TSC advertises CEO post as Nancy Macharia's term nears end. Macharia, who has served as CEO since 2015, became the first woman to lead the Commission since its establishment.

To be eligible for the role, applicants must be Kenyan citizens, possess a degree in education from a university recognized in Kenya, and have a minimum of ten years’ experience in education, administration, management, public administration, human resources, or financial management.

Candidates must also comply with the requirements outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will serve a five-year term, with the possibility of reappointment for one additional five-year term.

Those interested can download the application form from the TSC website (www.tsc.go.ke), complete it, and submit it along with a detailed CV, certified copies of ID or passport, academic and professional credentials, and testimonials.

Applications can be submitted through the recruitment portal at https://www.recruitment.tsc.go.ke, via email to chairperson2025@tsc.go.ke in PDF format, or by hand delivery to the TSC Chairman's office at TSC House, 3rd Floor, Tower Wing, Kilimanjaro Road, Upper Hill, Nairobi. Hand-delivered applications must be in a sealed envelope clearly labeled “Application for the post of Secretary/Chief Executive Officer.”

Additionally, applicants must include clearance certificates from the Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loans Board, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, and a recognized Credit Reference Bureau.

All applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Nancy Macharia has been the CEO since 2015, succeeding Gabriel Lengoiboni, who retired in June of that year.
