Teachers Finally Get the Facts About SWAL Deductions

TYesterday , at Etago Subcounty during the Teachers’ Retooling, a TSC Commissioner from headquarters confirmed what many have been asking about:

The money being deducted from our payslips under KUPPET SwaL will continue for the next 6 months — until TSC recovers what they claim was not deducted for union dues during the strike.

This is not a rumour. The commissioner stated clearly that the decision came from KUPPET Kenya through the advice from National Advisory Council -(NAC)which brings together National Officials ,Branch Chairpersons, Branch Executive Secretaries (ESs) & Branch Treasurers,plus the National Governing Council(NGC) which comprises National officials and branch Executive Secretaries. 

Therefore, let no one — whether Branch signatories or National Executive Board (NEB) — pretend they are in the dark. They were part of this decision. They must own it.

Teachers, we are on our own.
We must demand a refund and the immediate stoppage of further deductions from our already mutilated payslips.

We must demand transparency .
We must demand accountability.

Above all, we must stand together — because silence is the ground where exploitation grows.
